Mary

Mary has a genetic disorder that impairs learning as well as some bodily functions. There is a special school for children like Mary in a nearby town. Mary was very withdrawn but her mom reports she exudes joy in school now. In poor areas, kids with Mary's condition don't typically survive beyond early childhood, but what a gift for her to enjoy happiness, whatever her lifespan.

Nicole

One of our success stories. At age eight, we bought her a doll - her first toy. Nicole wasn't the best student in the beginning but she really wanted to be a nurse. We got her tutoring and we stuck with her all the way through college. Twelve years of her hard work and only $4,000 from us over the years for better schools and a college education and now the world has a new nurse.
